Local glass artist Suzie Nobile of Ogunquit Glassworks has created a stunning gingerbread ornament to support fundraising efforts for the new playground at the Ogunquit municipal campus. To lessen the financial impact on Ogunquit taxpayers, the town has committed to raising all necessary funds for the playground through private donations, without using any tax dollars.

Suzie and her husband Chris have generously offered these ornaments for sale at Spoiled Rotten at no cost to us. 100% of the proceeds from each ornament will go directly to the Ogunquit Village Schoolyard Fundraiser.

Background

Ogunquit is currently in the process of constructing a new municipal campus, set to be completed in 2025. This campus is being built on the site of the former Ogunquit Village School, a cherished landmark where many community members have fond memories of attending elementary school alongside their children and grandchildren.

Recognizing the importance of community spaces, it was essential for the town to include a beautiful playground within the new municipal campus and community center. You can view renderings of the playground here.

In a heartfelt nod to the past, the design of the new Ogunquit municipal campus reflects the charm of the old schoolhouse. These exquisite glass ornaments beautifully capture the essence of the new town offices, reminiscent of the beloved schoolhouse that many residents hold dear.
